Using Asset Risk Management Practices to Improve Resiliency

Resiliency, sustainability and asset management are all interrelated disciplines. Risk management is a key component of good asset management, and risk management practices can be applied to external events such as severe weather to improve a utilities resiliency to such events. This presentation will discuss the current state of risk management within the realm of asset management, and how the practices can be applied to challenges related to asset failures caused both by asset condition and external shocks. A client case study will be discussed relative to an operational risk assessment of ice-storms-with-wind events.
