Update (March 30, 2020):
The RMEL Board of Directors, based on a recommendation from staff, agreed that it’s in the best interest of the membership to cancel the 2020 Spring Management, Engineering & Operations Conference in Austin, TX. This difficult decision was made based primarily on the safety of everyone who participates in RMEL events, along with the trends we all have been experiencing and the uncertain forecast that lies ahead. As we've monitored the rapidly changing coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we also focused on key indicators to drive our decision on whether or not to postpone these events. Each of those components has demonstrated an adverse trend. Utilities have implemented travel restrictions eliminating most, if not all, domestic travel. Policies are trending the same with the Service & Supplier Companies. The rate of attendee cancellations has increased dramatically, and that trend is escalating quickly. Most importantly, the safety of our attendees is our number one priority, and we felt this was the right decision to make with that in mind. We will work with our RMEL Section Committees to look for windows of opportunity to reassemble & reschedule these events and the outstanding presentations that all speakers and the Section Committees have put together.

We will continue to provide updates and do our best to provide business continuity and serve the RMEL member community as we all navigate this situation. As always, we welcome any feedback and considerations from your perspective and the perspective of your organization.
