This workshop is intended to give field operations personnel an understanding of the theory behind safe electrical grounding practices and personal safety when working near high voltage power lines and equipment. This workshop covers the fundamentals of equipotential grounding used for safe line work activities and the many different system grounding practices. Information on various grounding methods will be discussed and examples of proper applications will be examined. Attendees will learn proper grounding techniques, how to test and maintain a good electrical ground and how to install protection devices that protect people and equipment from electrical shock.

Continuing Education Credits:
All attendees will receive a continuing education certificate worth 8.0 professional development hours (PDHs) by RMEL, upon completion of the course.


Cancellation Policy:
Fees are refundable if cancellation is received on or before 5 p.m., April 18, 2010. If cancellation is received after that date, half the registration fees will be refunded. Payments will be processed for those who do not attend or do not cancel by 5 p.m. the day before the event. To have someone take your place, please notify RMEL anytime before the event.
